Putting a Dory spin on the family favorite, Spot It! Finding Dory invites you to take a trip into the big blue with the beloved Finding Nemo characters. Join Dory, Nemo, and some brand new friends as they journey across the ocean in search of Dory’s long-lost family, encountering otters, seals, and more beneath the tumbling waves. The better you remember their names, the better luck you’ll have in the game. Don’t worry if you forget, though, you’re in good company with Dory by your side!
Fish are Friends, Not Food
Just like the other Spot It! games, Spot It! Finding Dory will come with a variety of unique symbols for you to identify and match from card to card, with many of the symbols representing Nemo, Dory, and their fish friends. You’ll recognize some characters that you met in Finding Nemo, like dedicated dad Marlin, Nemo’s school pals, and a couple of familiar sea turtles. Newer friends from Dory’s upcoming adventure will also make an appearance, like Hank the octopus and Destiny the shark, along with sights and creatures from the sea floor and sandy shores.
Just Keep Swimming
The five mini-games of Spot It! Finding Dory are all about pictures, so even though Dory can read, you won’t need her help here! In The Coral Reef, for example, each player gets a number of cards laid face-up in front of them, and one card is laid face-up in the middle of the table. The objective is to get rid of your cards as fast as you can by matching them to the card in the middle. Once you find a common symbol between the cards (and there always is one), yell it out and put your card in the middle. Each player must now match their cards to the new one, until one player runs out of cards altogether, winning the game.
Another mini-game is The Hermit Crab, a game where you want to keep a low profile, a keen eye, and a quick wit. In this game, you will have one card upright in front of you, and a pile in the middle. You want to match a symbol from the center card to one of the other player’s, and shout out the symbol. If you’re right, they have to take the card. Whoever has the least cards on their pile at the end of this game, wins!
